Our Guest Speaker : Dr. Sudarshanam
Dr. Sudarshanam came into Swami’s fold, along with his parents and sisters, in the year 1969. Soon he joined the Balvikas at the Ulsoor Samithi in Bangalore in 1970. That same year, Swami blessed him with the opportunity to play kanjira as a young member of the bhajan group at the Sai Ram shed in Brindavanam, Whitefield. He joined the Pre-University class at the Sri Sathya Sai College of Arts, Science and Commerce, at Brindavanam in 1977. Upon Swami’s immediate direction, he joined the bhajan group at Swami’s College to play kanjira. He was also a member of the Vedam, Bookstall and Dispensary seva groups at the Brindavan campus. He continued on to receive the B. Sc (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) degree from the same College in 1982. He moved to the Prasanthinilayam Campus of SSSIHL in 1982 and received the M. Sc degree in Physics in 1984. He received the Ph. D degree in Physics from Swami’s Divine Hands in 1988. That same year Swami directed him to join the faculty of the Physics Department at Brindavan as a Lecturer. After completing two years as a Lecturer in Physics at Brindavan, he did post-doctoral research work at the I. I. Sc [Bangalore] and IIT (New Delhi). He moved to the US in 1991, where he has since pursued professional interests in the same technical fields of lasers, fiber optics, electro-optics and photonics as he did at SSSIHL, Prasanthi Nilayam. At his current affiliation, he leads dashboard projects on high performance pulsed fiber amplifiers. With Swami’s Blessings, he has been a member of local Sri Sathya Sai Centers in the US since 1997, together with his wife and son.
