“Today the Chinese devotees are observing their national New Year Day here. What is the origin of the word “China”? It is derived from the two words “chung” and “kuo”. “Chung” means the human heart. “Kuo” refers to the country. The word “China” therefore means that “My heart is my country”. The heart is the source of effulgence. Every man is attracted to the heart. God is not confined to any particular place. HIS main abode is Heart.” — Divine discourse Feb 14, 1997. Chinese New Year, Prasanthi Nilayam.
(Sathya Sai Baba: Divine Discourse – 14 Feb 1997, Chinese New Year, Prasanthi Nilayam)
A warm and loving Sairam dear Members,
This Sunday, January 22nd is “Chinese New Year“. 新年好 (Xīnnián hǎo) Wish you all a very Happy Chinese New Year! It is the year of the Rabbit.
The Rabbit is associated with the Earthly Branch (地支 / dì zhī) mǎo (卯) and the hours 5—7 in the morning. In the terms of yin and yang (阴阳—yīn yáng), the Rabbit is yin.
Please find this week's Centre Newsletter, updates from all wings (Devotion, SSSE, Seva & YA) along with Centre Calendar for Jan 2023 and Zonal/Regional updates.
