“Today 1/27/2023, in Hindu religion, they celebrate a festival worshipping Sun god as it represents Sun god's birthday. Swami stated that Gayatri Mantra is a powerful chant and a prayer to Sun God. Here is a quote from Swami about Sun and Gayatri Mantra.
Swami said, “The Sun was regarded as the source of all energy and responsible for birth, growth, and destruction of all things in creation. It was for this reason that Sage Viswamitra glorified the Sun God (Savitr) in the Gayatri mantra.” (Sri Sathya Sai Speaks, vol 19.4: March, 8, 1986). They adored the Sun as the principal deity in the Gayatri mantra. “Dhiyo yonah Prachodayāt” – May the Sun illumine our intellects in the same way he sheds his effulgence. This is the prayer addressed to the Sun in the Gayatri mantra. In this way, they came to regard the Gayatri mantra as the mother of the Vedas.” (Sri Sathya Sai Speaks, vol 24.08: May, 21, 1991)
Let us all intensify our spiritual sadhana this week by chanting Gayatri Mantra and seeking Sun God's blessings in illuminating our intellects and moving us from the darkness of ignorance to light of knowledge!

2. SSSGC Announcement – Smule App: Our Zone 1 media, with Swami's Grace, has also joined in to create a smule account for all to enjoy as they practice Namasmarana (remembrance of the name). It is titled Sai Keerthan to Samkeerthana (Individual Sadhana to Community Sadhana). Please see the attached flyer and information given below. Click on the link below to subscribe to the channel:
Goal: To create a platform by sharing and being part of Swami’s mission to travel from individual to community sadhana by signing His glory.

3. Zone1 Ladies Wing Retreat – April 15th – 16th, 2023 (Virtual Event): As the first Zonal offering of the newly-formed Zonal Ladies Wing, we are thrilled to announce the Inaugural Zone 1 Ladies Wing Retreat to be held virtually on April 15th and 16th, 2023.
We are excited at the opportunity to bring together women of all ages from across the Zone for a joyous, Sai-filled day and a half! We hope that all our sisters across the Zone will mark your calendars and stay tuned for further Retreat details to be shared over the next few weeks.
