3 important announcements related to our National Sai YA program.

  1. Selection of Female National Young Adult Coordinator

First, please join us in offering our sincere thanks and good wishes to Meghana Iragavarapu, our outgoing Female National Young Adult Coordinator.  Meghana was instrumental in organizing the 2023 National YA mini-retreat and, more importantly, is an inspiration through her commitment to Swami's teachings while always carrying herself with the energy and enthusiasm emblematic of a Sai Young Adult.  We will miss her dearly as she steps away from her national officer role to dedicate her full attention to graduate school, but truly appreciate her efforts and talents which have enriched – and will continue to enrich – the Sai YA community.

On that note, we have begun the process to select a new female national YA coordinator.  Using this link (Click Here), please submit your nominations by October 20, 2023 (self-nominations accepted). The minimum requirements are: (1) commitment to Swami’s teachings in one’s personal life; (2) interest and ability in growing a Sai YA program aligned with the vision of the SSSGC; and (3) currently a Sai YA between the ages of 18 and 35.  A prior role as a coordinator or officer in a Sai organization is definitely a plus, though not required.  Similarly, while regular attendance at a Sai center is helpful in this role, we understand that numerous factors (e.g., geography, school/work/family commitments, etc.) which affect local center attendance may not be a barrier to serving in a national or regional YA leadership role.

  2. Selection of National Young Adult Deputy Coordinator

We are also excited to announce the creation of 2 new positions as National YA Deputy Coordinators.  As these are new roles, the responsibilities are still fluid.  Generally speaking, the deputy coordinators will assist the national coordinators/advisors in coordinating and implementing the YA program as members of the National YA team.  The same minimum qualifications and requirements apply as for the national YA coordinator roles. Please use this link (Click Here) to submit your nominations by October 20, 2023 (self-nominations accepted).

  3. Keep an eye out for…

Plans are moving forward for other initiatives or events of interest to YAs at the national and international level.  We will pass along announcements as they come, but please keep yourself connected by keeping your information current with your local center/regional officers, and following us on Facebook (SSSGC Zone 1 YA and SSSGC Zone 1) or the informal Zone 1 YA-only WhatsApp group (contact us for more info)

If you have any questions and (or) looking for more YA updates, please reach out to our Female YA Rep Varsha Rao @ yafrep@loudounsai.org and Male YA Rep Arjun Sundaram @ yamrep@loudounsai.org

SSSGC-Zone1 Updates:

Greetings from the SaiLights team!

It is fall, and time again for us to work TOGETHER on SaiLights'  2023 Birthday Issue!  As always, we are excited to join hands with you to prepare this joint Zone 1 offering for Swami. We humbly request the following:

Dear Center Members:  Please see the following request from Zone 1's SaiLights Magazine team. They are looking for your contributions regarding the following Sai Bhajan:
  • “SaiHamara, Hum Sai Ke”: One of the best loved Sai Bhajans, is it not?  Who does not love to sing this devotee favorite in a full-throated voice? Question is: What does this bhajan mean to you?  What thoughts or emotions or experiences do these words evoke in you?
  • SaiLights would love to share your thoughts with devotees across the zone.
  • Response should be approximately 300 words.
  • You may contact the SaiLights Team at contact@sailights.org
  • Submissions are due on or before October 17, 2023 and can be uploaded into the following website:  sailights.org/sailightssubmission/
  • Sai Inspires – Zone 1 Bulletin

You can share your feedback by using “Contact Us” on our zonal website at
